The Veolia Přerov multi-fuel boiler replaces the old coal boiler and, thanks to cooperation with companies such as Ozo Ostrava, will make it possible to reduce landfilling. This is a roughly two billion investment, supported by the State Environmental Fund. In terms of potential conflicts of interest, this is an example of the modernisation of existing outdated technology supported by a subsidy from the State Environmental Fund. Co-firing biomass will also reduce landfilling, which in the case of bio-waste is associated with uncontrolled emissions of methane into the air.
