In the context of all the current changes, we have been fine-tuning the programme until the last minute to ensure that the conference provides as many answers to current questions as possible, brings very specific topics and fits into the context of the Czech Presidency during which it is taking place. The main and very clear theme is energy and raw materials. In today's crisis, are we taking sufficient account of the principles of the circular economy and the reserves offered by waste streams and the changes that are taking place in them? Can we make better use of these principles?
The conference programme is organised in three main blocks. In each of them, there will be speakers from industry and companies that offer solutions to help in the current crisis, or who raise a neglected or interesting topic in the field. This will be followed by a panel discussion of experts, representatives of the Czech government and representatives of the European Commission
The energy block will simply open the topic of whether we are using enough energy from waste. The recycling block deals with different types of recycling, both material and chemical, which can contribute significantly to raw material security, although they often overcome various barriers. The economics and climate block looks at the clash of targets that we have often set ourselves very ambitiously, regardless of what other impacts they have.
