What to do with the discards from plastic waste sorting machines?

Currently, the question of what to do with the plastic waste after the plastic waste is sorted in accordance with the new waste law is very much mentioned in the media. The question of whether to restrict the sorting of plastics is being raised again. The CABH has analysed the actual situation. According to it, there is no short-term or long-term reason for the hasty restriction of plastic sorting. Nor is there any reason to make it more expensive for municipalities. [...]

Questions to the Ministry of the Environment in connection with the new waste regulations

Questions to the Ministry of the Environment in connection with the new waste regulations 1. How will the value of 6.5 MJ/kg be determined OBJECTIVELY? We consider it inappropriate for landfill operators to determine calorific value only by their subjective estimation. Who is competent to estimate the calorific value of waste at a landfill site, whether it is greater or less than 6.5 MJ/kg? (serious, compactorist??? - you have no idea [...]

The Packaging Cluster has a clear goal: sustainable packaging

The Czech Circular Economy Association has brought together representatives of key sectors to create real conditions for the circular economy. They work in open clusters: packaging, construction, energy, these are the most active so far. The Waste Act and related legislation, approved (finally!) with effect from January 2021, form the basic framework for this work. But this needs to be complemented by concrete initiatives. For example, the Packaging Cluster [...]

Prioritise Czech waste for recycling and do not import unusable ones from abroad. The Ministry of the Environment will tighten controls.

The Ministry of the Environment has objected to the threat of a collapse of plastic waste sorting in municipalities. The reports came in response to the ban on landfilling of plastic sorting residues unless the criteria defined by the new law are met. However, according to the MIT, the relevant provisions of the law will ensure that "landfills do not compete with recycling facilities and that the long-standing waste management hierarchy is realistically implemented." Further [...]

Abolish yellow bins and send plastics to landfill? Nonsense.

Reaction of the Czech Association of Circular Waste Management to the press release of the ČAOH In Prague 27.11.2020 - The opinion of the Czech Association of Circular Waste Management (ČAOH) on the discussed waste laws published yesterday corresponds to its name. It prefers to postpone the law's entry into force for at least a year and thus supports the extension of the possibility of landfilling even already sorted waste. According to the established waste hierarchy, which has been in force for over twenty years, [...]
